Health Trainers at Connexions Gateshead Would you like to make a lifestyle change such as stopping smoking, losing weight or doing more physical exercise? There is a weekly drop in at the Connexions Gateshead Centre every Wednesday between 10am and 12noon. Caring for Carers Young Carers are children and young people aged under 18 years old whose lives are in some way restricted because of the need to take responsibility for the care of a family member who is ill, has cancer or a terminal illness, has a disability, is experiencing mental distress or is affected by substance misuse. Many young carers are caring for a parent, but some may be helping to care for a grandparent, sibling or other relative or friend. Gateshead Crossroads offers information and advice for young carers in the Gateshead area. YCNet for young carers offers a supportive online community of young carers for discussion or for advice from qualified youth workers. Be safe not spiked When a drink is spiked it means that alcohol or drugs have been added to the drink without the person's knowledge or approval. The substance can be added to any drink including soft drinks, juice, water or alcohol. The practice is illegal and potentially deadly to the person whose drink is spiked. If you have any health issue that you are concerned about then please visit your GP. |
