Enterprise Week 2006

Connexions in Gateshead are supporting Enterprise Week 2006.

Events and activities will run from 13th – 19th November and aim to raise young people’s awareness of enterprise skills.

These include:

• using initiative
• making decisions
• solving problems
• being flexible
• understanding money
• planning
• being creative
• thinking positive – a ‘can do’ approach

Enterprise skills are used as part of everyday life and are highly valued by employers and universities.

How many of the above can YOU demonstrate?

Some young people aim to develop these skills further and create a business of their own, also known as ‘self employment’.

There is a wide range of help available to young people planning to enter self-employment, including grants and specialist advice.
