Hold Your Head Up - look after your mental health

Connexions in Gateshead are supporting National Youth Work Week.

This will run from 1st – 7th November and aims to raise awareness of mental health issues among young people.

Stethescope

Mental health issues are more common than most people think and should be discussed openly with a trusted adult or suitable professional.

Young Minds offer the following tips for staying mentally healthy:

  • Do not be afraid to ask for help when you need it
  • Take time out to relax and do something you enjoy
  • Talk to someone you trust – try not to bottle things up
  • Take one step at a time – make decisions at your own pace
  • Believe in yourself – be proud of who you are and what you have achieved
  • Look after your body – try to eat well, exercise and get enough sleep

Exercise is vital to good mental health.
