Health Trainers in Gateshead

The Gateshead Health Trainer team was launched in January 2007 and works across the Gateshead area. The team is based at the old Town Hall in the centre of Gateshead and work right in the heart of your communities.

If you wish to stop smoking, lose weight or manage stress then speak to one of the team who will find a service that best suits your needs.

Health Trainers can offer a weekly review (for up to 16 weeks) to help people monitor their progress as well as offering support during this period.

Health Trainers encourage and support you to get more active by finding a form of physical activity that will be beneficial to your mental well-being. They can also help you to tackle drug and alcohol problems by signposting you to the right services.

Weekly drop in sessions

Every Wednesday morning between 10am-12noon, Health Trainers will be in the Youth Room at Connexions Gateshead to talk about health issues and give Personal Health Checks.

If you want to discuss a variety of health issues with different people on line, join the Health Matters from Gateshead Health Trainers forum. Topics include young parents, hopes and fears, smoking, healthy walks and much more (free registration required).
