What is a Personal Adviser? [BACK TO TOP] A Connexions Personal Adviser is someone who is specially trained to provide advice and guidance to young people aged 13 to 19 (and up to age 25 for people with special needs). Personal Advisors (also called PA's) can help you choose the right career, find a job or get valuable training. PA's can also provide help and support with personal problems, bullying or relationships at school, at home or at work. In fact a Connexions Personal Adviser can help with almost any issue that might affect young people aged 13 to 19.
What can they do for me? [BACK TO TOP] A Personal Adviser can help you make the right decision for your future. They can provide advice and support on a wide range of lifestyle issues including education, training, employment, health, and personal development opportunities.
Will they tell my parents or teacher? [BACK TO TOP] Your meeting with a Personal Adviser is strictly confidential. A PA will not tell anyone about your visit unless you both agree you need to see someone else to get more help and advice. We do encourage young people to include their parents in the decisions they will make, but they do not have to be there unless you want them to be.
