Connexions were the first Connexions in the country to be on digital TV.  Unfortunately due to low demand this service has been withdrawn.

In 2005 Connexions Tyne and Wear were one of the first Connexions partnerships in the country (if not the only one) to provide access to their services via Digital Television!

Also called DigiTV, anyone who had Sky, Telewest or NTL digital could access our services, request more information or ask us a question from the comfort of their armchair!

We are always looking for new and exciting ways to deliver the many services we provide and Digital TV allowed us to do this 24 hours a day!

What is DigiTV?  What is Directgov?

Digital Television (DigiTV) is a National Project looking into digital interactive television. The DigiTV project is sponsored by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) and is run by Local Authorities.

Directgov is a government initiative to widen access to all kinds of information by making as many services as possible available electronically. Accessing services on your TV is an excellent example of this.

Using your remote control you can:

 • Access a range of services
 • Request more information
 • Ask questions
 • Find out what's new

Digital TV is a great way for people who don't have a PC and the internet to access a range of services electronically without having to leave their home. The number of services available is growing all the time which will make digital television even more useful in the future.
