These include NVQ qualifications, Key Skills and possibly a Technical Certificate related to the work. NVQ's have been designed by employers to measure successful performance in a particular job. There are different levels of apprenticeship:
Training may consist of on the job training and assessments, day release or block release to a local College or Training Provider or a combination of these. In general the cost of training is met by the Learning and Skills Council, although in some instances you may be asked to make a contribution. You will normally be responsible for paying the wage to the apprentice.
