Diplomas The Diploma is a new qualification for 14 - 19 year olds.

Diplomas have been designed with employers so that young people are better prepared for the world of work.

Diplomas are different. Young people get more choice about what they learn and can keep their options open for the future by exploring different subject areas without committing to a career in them.

Diplomas will be available in 14 subject areas

Some Diploma courses are now available in Tyne and Wear.

Sunderland is one of only six Local Authorities in the country that will deliver all 14 diploma subjects from September 2010.
