Children's Information Service The Children's Information Service provide information about Child minders, Nurses, Nurseries, Playgroups, holiday care schemes, before and after school clubs and creche facilities. They can also provide information about Parent and Toddler Groups, Leisure and Library services, toy libraries, early education, Tax Credits and careers in childcare.

Child care: Have your child care costs paid while you train!
Care to Learn: If you are a young parent aged under 20 and you start
learning - you could get help with your childcare costs up to £155 per week. You can be attending a full or part time course at a college or training centre. National Council for One-Parent Families: The aim of the National Council for One Parent Families is to improve the economic, legal and social position of one-parent families. They are based in London but offer a FREE UK helpline on 0800 018 5026.

Child Benefit is a tax-free social security benefit for people who are bringing up children. It is paid for each child and is not affected by income or savings. To find out more about Child benefit click here.
Every child born on or after 1 September 2002 qualifies for a Child Trust Fund (CTF) providing they live in the UK and are not subject to immigration restrictions. The Government sends a £250 voucher to each child’s parents within a month of them starting to receive Child Benefit. To find out more about Child Trust Funds click here.
Gateshead AD(H)D Support. Gateshead ADHD Support is a registered charity which gives help and support to parents and carers of children or young people with ADHD. What is ADHD? ADHD stands for Attention Deficit (with Hyperactivity) Disorder. There are three types of ADHD. 1 Inattentive (dreamy, non listening, easily distracted). 2 Hyperactive / Impulsive (fidgety, restless, impulsive, impatient) and 3 Combined (inattentive plus the hyperactive impulsive behaviours). Most children with A.D.(H).D will have special educational needs as it affects their ability to learn.
