National Minimum Wage

The National Minimum Wage is a legal right which covers almost all workers above compulsory school leaving age. It generally increases every year on 1st October. The rates from 1st October 2011 are:

Ages 16 and 17£3.68 per hour
Ages 18-20£4.98 per hour
Aged 21 and over£6.08 per hour

The National Minimum Wage for apprentices is £2.60 per hour.
