Welcome to Connexions North Tyneside

Connexions North Tyneside offers confidential advice and support services for all 13-19 year olds (and up to age 25 for young people with special needs). 

Sure Start Children's Centres North Tyneside

Sure Start children's centres offer free help and support to parents to be, mums, dads and carers with children under five.

Membership is free and lets you access a range of services at any of North Tyneside's twelve Sure Start children's centres.

Everything on offer at your local centre is aimed at getting your child off to the best start in life and that includes helping you to make the most of your life too. The centres at New York, Whitley Bay and Riverside all offer a free crèche for parents and a range of part-time courses including literacy and numeracy.

Connexions North Tyneside gain matrix accreditation

matrixConnexions North Tyneside have been successful in gaining the matrix Standard for Information Advice and Guidance Services.

The matrix Standard endorses the quality of the information, advice and guidance on learning and work you receive from Connexions in North Tyneside, so you can be sure you're getting the very best support to help you make informed choices about your future.

The assessors commended Connexions North Tyneside for their very positive, open culture and strong team working.

North Tyneside Schools’ 16-19 Bursary Scheme

The new 16-19 Bursary is to help students aged 16-19 who are in greatest need in meeting the costs of participating in post-16 education and training.

If you started Year 12, 13 or 14 at a North Tyneside school in September 2011, you might be entitled to a bursary through the North Tyneside Schools' 16-19 Bursary Scheme, to help with costs during term time.

Connexions North Tyneside in the community

Staff from Connexions North Tyneside are available at Wallsend Library every Monday and Friday afternoon between 1.30pm-4.30pm and at Howdon Library every Wednesday morning between 10am-12.30pm. The Connexions Access Point at Wooley Street Youth Centre in Wallsend is no longer operating.

There are a number of sexual health clinics available to anyone across North Tyneside on a drop-in basis.
