  Event Aims To Put Young Parents In The Know

The Young Parents’ Information Event is due to take place later this month aiming to raise awareness among young parents about the support and opportunities that are available to them.

It will be held at Trinity Church Hall, The Esplanade, Whitley Bay on Wednesday June 28 from 10.30 am – 12 noon.

A range of organisations who support young parents will be present including Connexions North Tyneside, Tyne Metropolitan College, Barnardo’s The Base, VODA (volunteering agency), Whitley Bay Children's Centre, The Early Years Family Support Team and the Lone Parent Adviser. Experts will be on hand to provide information and advice.

The event is being jointly organised by Barnardo’s The Base and Connexions North Tyneside.

Event Co-ordinator Alison Davis said; ‘Not all young parents are aware of the support and opportunities that are available to them. This event brings together, under one roof, a number of partner organisations who work on behalf of teenage parents. This will give the young people an ideal opportunity to discover what’s available to them. The event should be an enjoyable and useful experience and is free of charge. There will also be an opportunity for young parents to have photographs taken with their children.’
