Short courses and other opportunities

For those aged 18 or over, many organisations offer short courses and other opportunities.

These may be in vocational areas such as call centre work, construction, engineering, manufacturing or youth work, or they may be in personal development such as re-employment training.

These courses are offered at various venues in Sunderland and the surrounding area, including college sites, youth centres and the premises of learning providers and other projects.

Some of these opportunities are for the unemployed, because of funding reasons, but many are open to everyone. Most courses are free and are do not affect benefits, whilst some offer attendance allowances or repayment of travel costs.
