Consider the possibilities...

Local young people need employers to provide work experience placements that will offer them an insight into future careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (the 'STEM' subject areas).

By offering work experience placements to local 16 and 17 year olds, you can promote your industry to the workforce of the future.

Developing your skills

Developing your skills is your guide to the training, development and curriculum support opportunities across Tyne and Wear, provided for you by the Connexions Hub Services Training and Assessment Centre.

It is important that all staff have the best skills and knowledge available to support their individual needs in their job role. Through our Training Plan we will endeavour to ensure that we offer the right training for all staff.

Developing your skills is not an exhaustive list of the training available - keep an eye on the Connexions in Tyne and Wear intranet, the Connexions in Tyne and Wear website and the Tyne and Wear Assessment and Training Centre website for details of more courses to be delivered.

Apprenticeships - Good for our Business

The National Apprenticeship Service has announced a new way for people to find out which businesses employ apprentices.

Their research shows that over 80% of people are more likely to use a business if it offers Apprenticeships. The new Apprenticeship Employer Certificate recognises businesses for their commitment to and support of Apprenticeships.
