Consider the possibilities...

Local young people need employers to provide work experience placements that will offer them an insight into future careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

By offering work experience placements to local 16 and 17 year olds, you can promote your industry to the workforce of the future.

Why science, technology, engineering and mathematics?

Following the publication of the Wolf Review, the Government has recommended that greater emphasis be placed on ensuring young people have relevant skills within the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) occupational areas.

Can you help?

You’ll be investing your time, passing on your skills and experience to the workforce of tomorrow. You will influence the quality of future employees and raise awareness of career and training opportunities.

What sort of placements do we need?

Ideally, placements would be full or half days for one or two full weeks.

Appropriate Health and Safety assessments will be undertaken by our qualified team of Health and Safety Assessors prior to any placement taking place. The cost of these will be met by Connexions Hub Services. Typically a Health and Safety assessment will take only 30 minutes.

Connexions Hub Services already arrange 11,000 work experience placements and associated Health and Safety assessments annually across Tyne and Wear.
