Afasic seeks to raise awareness and to create better services and provision for children and young people with speech and language difficulties.
The Association of National Specialist Colleges
Independent specialist colleges that provide further education and training. Includes a directory of member colleges throughout the country.

Provides information on specific conditions and produce a wide range of factsheets.
Disability Alliance
Offers information, advice, publications and training on disability benefits.
Family Fund
Funding, information and support for families with severely disabled or seriously ill children.
IPSEA
IPSEA is a registered charity offering free and independent advice to parents of children with special educational needs in England and Wales.
Local Area Prospectuses
The on-line 14-19 prospectuses let you find out what courses and qualifications are available at schools, colleges and sixth forms in your area.
Mencap
Learning disability charity that campaigns for equal rights and greater opportunities. Also provide advice, information and support.
Moving On Up
A website aimed mainly at young people from ethnic minority communities who want to find out more about transition.
National Association of Family Information Services (NAFIS)
The National Association of Family Information Services (NAFIS) is a registered charity that provides information, advice and assistance to parents, carers and professionals on the range of children, family and young people’s services available within their area.
National Centre for Independent Living
The National Centre for Independent Living provides a resource on independent living, direct payments and personal budgets for disabled people
National Parent Partnership Network
The National Parent Partnership Network offer confidential and impartial information advice and support to parents and carers of young people with special educational needs.
Progress Magazine
Transition information for 13 to 25 year olds.
Royal Association for Disability Rights (Radar)
Run by and for disabled people, this body campaigns for equal rights and promotes good practice.
Scope
Information, advice, support and a range of other services for people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.
Skill: The National Bureau for Students with Disabilities
Skill: The National Bureau for Students with Disabilities, offers a free information and advice service and publishes an annual higher education guide ‘Into Higher Education’.
Transition Information Network
A website for parents, carers and people who work with disabled young people in transition to adulthood.
Whizz-kidz
Whizz-kidz is a national charity which aims to give disabled young people increased independence and a more active life through clubs, training and work placements. Whizz-kidz offers expert, impartial advice and information on all aspects of child mobility.
