Important changes to the
Connexions on-line Vacancy service
We've made some changes to improve our on-line Vacancy service and help you make the best applications possible for jobs on our system.
Registered users may wish to update their Application Form/CV as Your Skills, Abilities and Interests has been divided into two new sections:
The new Skills and Abilities section is a chance for your CV to show employers that you're a good candidate.
The Interests and Hobbies section will be shown on your CV and on your application when you apply for jobs on-line.
Every time you apply on-line, you'll now be asked to enter supporting information for each opportunity you apply for. This is your chance to tell an employer why you are the best candidate, so remember to give as much relevant information as possible.
For more information call free on 0800 073 8700 between 8.30am-5pm Monday-Thursday, 8.30am-4.30pm Friday and ask for the Vacancy team.
Non-Apprenticeship Training opportunities are available throughout Tyne and Wear in many occupational areas. For more information and to find out how to apply, download the latest edition of Work-based Learning Directory by clicking on the link in the Downloads menu on the right hand side of any page on the Connexions website, or speak to your Connexions Personal Adviser.
Useful tips to help you with your application
If you're sending your application in an A4 envelope, remember to affix the correct 'Large Letter' stamp or have it checked and weighed at a Post Office. Employers may choose not to pay the excess postage levied by Royal Mail on underpaid items, so your application might not get the chance to be considered.
Our leaflet Useful tips to help you complete your application form will help you to complete the paper application form.
