Nature on your doorstep
There are hundreds of species of insect, birds, mammals, pond life and a multitude of habitats in the Nuttery (Nut Orchard) at Washington Old Hall. Over the next year they are developing this area to maximise the wildlife and share it our neighbours.
They are looking for volunteers to work with a small group of staff and volunteers to help create and maintain this site for thousands of (visitors a year people and wildlife); get closer to nature and learn about native wildlife; record data; get your hands dirty; share you experience and knowledge with others and help design and create interesting wildlife features.
If you are interested or would like to find out more details please e-mail Sarah Murray or call 0191 416 6879.
They are asking for a time commitment of one day or half day per week (Thursdays) times will vary over the winter months and the location will be Washington Old Hall, The Avenue, Washington Village, NE38 8AB.
