Gateshead stretches almost 13 miles along the south bank of the River Tyne and covers an area of 55 square miles, making it the largest in area of the five Tyne and Wear metropolitan authorities.

The town of Gateshead is divided into five areas, Central, East, Inner West, West and South there are a range of activities being held in these areas covering a wide age range. A selection of events is listed below, perhaps you would like to try something different today.

Young Woman's Grouup (age 12-19)
Get the chance to have lots of fun, talk about different issues, enter competitions, experience new things. Every Thursday, 5pm-7pm.

Dysfunctional Dance Group (age 11-19)
Street dance tuition for young people. Every Saturday 12.30am-3pm.

Girls’ Group (age 11-19)
Arts, crafts, chat and chill, Every Thursdays 5pm-7pm

Zumba® Sessions
Running on Sundays (3pm-4pm) and Tuesdays (7.30pm-8.30pm) at £3 per person. Children's Dance Classes (age 5-11) also start from Monday 9th May (4pm-5pm) at £3 per child. Fully qualified instruction in a friendly atmosphere.

Are you aged 11-21 and live the Deckham Area?
You could play football free on the all weather pitches every Friday night between 5pm-8pm. It is always best to book, so call in to Elgin Centre Reception, or telephone, you can also just turn up and see what pitches are available on the night.

Libraries are working with groups of young people to plan, programme and promote MyVoice events.
